Last week, the Oro Valley Town Council approved the release of the 60% draft of OVPath Forward, the update to the 2016 General Plan, for public review. Council accepted several changes, including renaming “neighborhood commercial office” to “local commercial activity center,” updating the Vistoso Trails land-use designation from “resort and golf” to “park,” and adopting a new guiding principle on building heights that balances protecting views with limited flexibility for taller structures.
Take Ten: Now its time for public comment through October 31
The draft is open for community comment from today through October 31. It is a lengthy document and we think it’s best digested in pieces. Each Monday, we will feature one element of the plan, highlight some interesting facets about it, and encourage you to comment on it. It will take you no more than a few minutes each week, perhaps ten or so. By the end of the review period, you will have invested about an hour in helping shape Oro Valley’s future.
Your review is important to you
Reviewing and commenting on the 60% draft matters to you. This plan will guide Oro Valley’s growth, land use, and community priorities for the next decade. Your feedback ensures the plan reflects not just broad ideas, but your needs and concerns. By taking a few minutes each week to read and share your thoughts, you can influence decisions on issues such as housing, open space, transportation, and community amenities—choices that will directly shape the quality of your life in Oro Valley for years to come.
