It’s a very busy month for military observances, and the Oro Valley Historical Society is definitely participating!
A salute to the military
Our current exhibit in the Pusch House Museum at historic Steam Pump Ranch is “A Salute to the Military – Past and Present” and will be available for viewing until November 23. (The Museum will be closed on November 30.)
We are featuring first responders this month in conjunction with Rockin’ 4 Heroes event to be held in James D. Kriegh Park on November 10, Veterans’ Day on November 11, and the respectful ribbon-cutting for the Arizona Heroes’ Memorial to be held in Naranja Park on November 16.
On November 9 in the Pusch House Museum, all military personnel who sign our guest book will be given a token of our gratitude, admiration, and thanks for all the sacrifices they made.

Join the raffle
When you visit the Pusch House Museum, you’ll still have the opportunity to purchase a ticket (or more!) for the Jim Click raffle, with the possibility of winning the raffle’s first place prize, the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Plug-in Hybrid. Tickets are only $25 each or 5 for $100, and all proceeds from ticket sales support the Oro Valley Historical Society, thanks to the generosity of Jim Click. So, visit the Ranch in November to buy a ticket, see the Museum, indulge in the goodies at the Heirloom Farmers Market, and discover the treasures vendors bring for you. Remember, the last day to buy a ticket from the Society is November 23!
What's for dinner?
The Society will host a presentation at the Oro Valley Public Library on November 20 at 1 p.m. Award-winning local author, Carolyn Niethammer, will discuss “What’s for Dinner: Northern Pima County 1000 B.C.” Her most recent book, *A Desert Feast: Celebrating Tucson's Culinary History*, will be the basis of her discussion and available for sale. Who knows? You may discover unique comestibles to adorn your holiday table!

Visits to the Museum and the presentation at the library are complimentary, and donations are gladly accepted. We hope you will join us to help keep Oro Valley history alive.
