Council Forms Team To Focus on Maintenance of Pusch Ridge Golf Course

Maintenance of Pusch View Course is on the table
As we have previously reported, the residents abutting the town owned Pusch View 9 hole golf course are incensed at the condition of the course. The town had stopped maintaining the fairways of this course, choosing to maintain the greens only.

By now, the course was to have been abandoned and returned to HSL, owner of the El Conquistador, in a 50 year lease.

El Conquistador Resort (HSL) can't afford the course.. now
The El Conquistador is a resort. It has been "hit hard" by Covid-19 public restrictions. It does not have the funds to take over the course. So, the town is "on the hook" to do something.

Watch the video at right to learn what was the plan and why that plan has not come to fruition.

Residents are "up in arms"
Council members toured the course prior to last week's council meeting and saw the situation first hand.

Residents speaking at last week’s council meeting expressed their displeasure. Most seem to have been unaware to the many years the town has tried to make this course successful. Most are unknowledgeable of the what has been happening with the three courses to town owns.

Council forms group to focus on issue
Council heard resident concerns and they are acting.  They voted (6-1) to direct the town manager and town attorney to initiate discussions with HSL and the HOA’s that surround the Pusch Ridge Course in an effort to negotiate an acceptable plan for the maintenance and use of that course, subject to council approval.

More to follow as this develops.
