We received a vivid communication from one of our readers regarding the disrespectful behavior of minority council members toward Mayor Winfield. the reader is puzzled: Why doesn't Winfield call them to order?

We wonder: Is this is a unique perspective or something shared by many?

The email we received
"I was watching the council meeting Wednesday night from home as it was happening. Again, Council Member Solomon kept taking over the role of mayor while Winfield just sat there and let him do it. Winfield never calls a point of order. I watched Solomon, and Council Member's Rodman and Pina being completely disrespectful to him and making accusations while he just sat there.
Winfield lets them drone on and on and on instead of stopping them and telling them that they've made their point and we need to get on with the business of the meeting.
I was also annoyed when Pina accused Mayor Winfield of being disrespectful to the council. What a hypocrite! In her three years on council, when did she ever call out [former mayor] Hiremath or Solomon for being disrespectful to other council members? Never!
This is why I won't go to council meetings.
I would be likely to stand up and yell...
"Oh for the love of god, would you bang the damn gavel and shut him up!!!"
