Our survey of some Oro Valley polling places indicates that the walk-in vote is moderate at best. The largest walk-in voting generally happens from 5 to 7pm.
In an election day mess up, Brad Nelson, director of Pima County's election department, failed to do his job of delivering media to each polling location to let voters know that Oro Valley resident Joe Winfield, though listed on the ballot, was not a candidate.
We have been told that the notice has been delivered and posted. In addition, at least in one precinct, Nelson told the election marshals to point out to people that Winfield is not a candidate.
