From The Oro Valley June 6 Town Council Meeting, "Call To The Audience"
- It will cost Oro Valley resident Dick Tracey $1.20 to travel from his house to the proposed Fry's fuel station to save $.10 per gallon on gas. Since he has a 13 gallon tank on his car, the savings would be minimal. [Ed Note: One can earn up to $1 off per gallon of gas. The trip would be more than feasible under that circumstance.]
- Fry's continues to violate safety codes with the placement of its merchandise in front of their stores, according to Don Bristow. (Council Member Snider asked that the town contact the Fire Marshall to look into this situation.)
- Four audience members spoke fearfully that a management study of the Police Department could threaten the effectiveness of the Police Department. One speaker was fearful that the Sun City Oro Valley Police Substation might get closed as a result of the study. The position of these speakers is that a study is not needed. Oro Valley is safe! "Why mess around with a good thing?"
- Resident Ralph Kaiser said he was "dismayed" by TREO's junket to Torrey Pines. He questioned Oro Valley's Council Member Hornat and Waters participation in this activity.
- Resident Cheryl Rodriquez notified the Council of a dangerous vehicle parking situation cause by DR Horton construction in her neighborhood. (Nicholas Homes-La Canada).
