The Steve "The Trashman" Solomon "Bamboozle"

---
The Steve "The Trashman" Solomon "Bamboozle" is not a new dance.  No. It is the same old "money and lies" dance political hacks have used for decades to get elected.
---

Based on Pre-Primary finance reports, Steve "The Trashman" Solomon has spent almost twice as much as the combined spending of Brendan Burns, Bill Garner, Mark Napier and Mike Zinkin.  His $10,100 personal loan to his campaign is three times greater than combined the campaign loans of these four.

Solomon is trying to buy the election.

Does this tactic sound familiar?  It should. We have seen this tactic before.

In 2010, Satish Hiremath spent more than $50,000, $37,000 more than his opponent, to gain a 31-vote margin in the Oro Valley Mayoral election.

Solomon is using the "Satish Hiremath Buy-The-Election" formula: Invest outrageous personal sums in the election and seek the endorsement of special interests, of which we have previously posted.   Why not?  This formula worked before.

There is a difference, though, in the situations of Hiremath and Solomon.

In 2010, no one knew Satish Hiremath. We can understand why he wanted to spend so much money to dazzle the voters.  He had no record on which to stand.  He was a stealth candidate whom some underestimated.  He was the new face in town, ready the sweep clean the ten-year reign of Paul Loomis.

In 2012, Steve "The Trashman" Solomon's situation is different from that of Satish Hiremath's.  Solomon's problem is not that he is not known, as in Hiremath's case in 2010. Solomon's problem is that he is known. People know who he is.  They know for what he stands.

Solomon has to spend outrageous sums to "bamboozle" the voters into thinking that he is not who he is.

"Bamboozle he does" with:
  • Huge Explorer Ads ($2,000 per his Pre-Primary Report)
  • Wicked Ugly Glossy Postcards and Giant Wicked Ugly Yellow Signs ($4,000 per his Pre-Primary Report

Yes.  Solomon wants to buy the election. Solomon wants you to forget who he is. Solomon wants to scare you into voting for him. These are three good reasons not to vote for him.

Am I reading this report correctly...that Narcaroti is the one with the donation that is over the legal limit? Thanks.

We were informed by our crack cub reporter, John Mussof, that ARS 16-901 18D states that any family member (in this case his father Fred Narcaroti Senior) can give as much as they wish to the candidate. It's considered the candidate"s "personal monies."

If enough voters know what Solomon stands for, he'll come in "dead last."

Based on his outrageous behavior, his outrageous voting record, and the outrageous amount of money he's spending trying to "snooker" the voters of Oro Valley, he deserves to bring up the rear.

Please vote for BILL GARNER, MIKE ZINKIN & BRENDAN BURNS.
