NPCC is KC Carter's Latest Folly

---
Former Council Member, KC Carter, was roundly defeated in 2010 when he was seeking reelection.  There are many reasons for this, we suspect, none more than the fact that, we think, he simply went "Off The Reservation."  Once KC was admired by many of us as a sensible senior.  As time passed, KC became irracible. In once council meeting, he "dressed down" a town employee, referring to her as "Lady."

So, we were not surprised to learn of this, his latest folly.

We are in receipt of a letter KC sent to Mayor Hiremath and Town Council dated November 2.  In it, Casey "shills" for the Northern Pima County Chamber of Commerce (NPCC).

NPCC is another of those "we're gonna bring business to Oro Valley" organizations that, historically, produces no positive result for the town. That's right.  It produces questionable results with regards to driving business into Oro Valley.   Its like TREO and MTCVB, two other organizations that leech off the people's money.

NPCC's current leader is Dave Perry, former editor of the Explorer.  We always felt that Perry was way too pro-development when he was running the paper.  He endorsed the four council members elected in 2010 (Hiremath, Waters, Snider and Hornat).

Casey writes in his letter:

"My suggestion, and a very strong request, is for the town in the 2012-' 13 budget include a management fee for this group to use so it can bring about more positive results that will occur when it has more money.
I believe that a town of 41,000 people can afford an amount of $25,000 for its use in the following year for working money."
Casey wants the town to spend more money to get more positive results. This would indicate that the NPCC has achieved some positive results for the town. Would someone please enlighten us?

We certainly hope that the Oro Valley Town Council roundly says "No Thanks" to Carter's request.

NPCC should get its money solely from is business and commerce members.   It should not get one dime of the people's money.
