Recall News From The Explorer Shows Hiremath Just Doesn't Get It

Mayor Hiremath seems to not have the ability to face reality. Under his so called leadership over less than one year in office, he has shown total disdain to the citizens of Oro Valley, both individually & collectively.

It all started when the new mayor decided to choose a developer (in what appeared to be a "quid pro quo" for the support they gave him in getting him elected)even though a multitude of much better qualified citizens offered to serve.

The "Appointed One," Steve Solomon has proved to be a disaster to the people from day one.

Ms. Conny Culver, the spokesperson from the PAC notes in The Explorer article why Hornat & Snider were chosen for recall.

From my standpoint, Hiremath, Solomon & Waters could have just as easily been chosen, as "The Gang of Five" consistently voted on issues detrimental to the people of Oro Valley.

Here's The Explorer article.

Hornat & Snider Recall Initiated By Oro Valley Recall PAC

May 25th at 9:30 AM,Oro Valley Recall representatives met with the Oro Valley Town Clerk and Town Attorney to initiate the recall of Council Members Mary Snider and Joe Hornat. http://orovalleyrecall.com/

The process of gathering signatures is expected to begin today.

The legal requirement of a 200 word of less statement for the recall petitions reads as follows:

The Council Member’s negligent management of the Town’s budget, including refusal to make necessary spending cuts, has caused the Town to increase taxes on the people of Oro Valley despite overwhelming public sentiment against such taxes. These tax increases have had a direct effect on the livelihood and well-being of the people of Oro Valley during these difficult economic times. We believe such disregard for the citizens of Oro Valley and their wishes has been, and will be, detrimental to the Town of Oro Valley.

Mary and Joe MUST go!

If you wish to make Oro Valley a better place for its people, you can do so by signing the recall petition and help by getting your friends and neighbors signatures.

To achieve the goal of making Oro Valley a better place for its people, volunteers are needed to help in getting enough signatures

Mayor Hiremath Should Be Embarrassed For Showing A Lack Of Respect

The Mayor constantly harps on trying to make Oro Valley better by showing respect to others.

Well, Hiremath would do well to follow his own advice. His latest "victim" was Council Member Bill Garner, the ONLY one that consistently votes in the best interests of his constituents.

At the last council meeting,Hiremath and his four cronies---Hornat, Snider, Solomon & Waters passed a tentative budget which included doubling our Utility Tax. Bill Garner showed a slide presentation pointing out numerous areas where the town has frivolous expenditures that should be examined more closely. Garner & Barry Gillaspie both voted against the budget and were the only two to vote "no" on doubling the Utility Tax.

Hiremath chastised Garner publicly by stating: "A man of your intellect and somebody who prides yourself on being very meticulous at every single council meeting by asking department heads a ton of questions so that you're very well-versed. I'm actually surprised that you chose a public forum to actually let everybody know that you don't know all the answers to 99 percent of the questions."

The mayor should be ashamed of himself. He is an embarrassment to himself and to our community. Hiremath has maybe 1/2 the knowledge of Bill Garner when it comes to Oro Valley issues, and has proven himself to be a stooge of the Special Interest Groups that got him barely elected.
