As reported in The Explorer, new "Council on Your Corner" will be initiated Sat, Jan 8. at Town Hall.
OV hosts 1st virtual Council on Your Corner
The Town of Oro Valley is expanding its popular “Council on Your Corner” discussion series and will host its first-ever virtual event. “Council on Your Corner 2.0,” featuring a discussion with Councilmember Joe Hornat, will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, in Council Chambers at Town Hall, 11000 N. La Cañada Dr. Reservations are not required, and the event is open to the public.
Not only will “Council on Your Corner 2.0” include its traditional face-to-face opportunity to interact with local council members, but it also will allow those who are unable to attend in person the opportunity to log on and view the event live, or download the archived meeting at their convenience.
The idea was encouraged by Councilmember Hornat.
“The Town Council, in its continuing efforts to expand outreach to the community, will stream this event live and archive it for those folks who may not be able to attend,” Hornat said. “Hopefully, we will get a lot of folks with good questions, and because these electronic discussions are archived, we can share this with more members throughout our community.”
To view the meeting live, or to download later, follow these easy steps:
• Go to www.orovalleyaz.gov and click the Meetings, Agendas and Minutes button on the Home page
• Then click Live Meetings
Participants may submit questions in advance of the Town Hall by emailing Pat Klein at pklein@orovalleyaz.gov no later than noon on Jan. 8, or using the Town’s Facebook and Twitter accounts during the live broadcast. Questions may be submitted using the following addresses:
• pklein@orovalleyaz.gov
For more information regarding the new format, call Oro Valley’s Constituent Services Office at 229 4711.
