What happened in 2006? We were inundated with Vestar "propaganda" about voting for a
"unique,upscale" shopping experience. (Note: Original post had incorrect date of 2004)
We all know what we ended up with----The OV Marketplace -- a far cry from "unique," and anchored by a Walmart, it certainly can't be considered "upscale."
What's different this time around?
Well, it's not the big out of state developer trying to sell us a bill of goods.
This time, it's the the International Association of Firefighters,North Tucson Firefighters, the Southern Arizona Homebuilders Association, Realtors of Arizona,North Pima Chamber of Commerce, Tucson Chamber of Commerce, Tucson Metropolitan Convention Bureau, Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities.
Did you notice anything in all these names?
NOT ONE IS AN ORO VALLEY ORGANIZATION!
Why, you ask would these outside organizations intercede in our local election?
The answer is, they all want something in return for their support. It's as simple as, "you scratch my back; I'll scratch yours."
We can NOT afford to have a mayor & council majority that will be beholden to outside Special Interest Groups.
Their candidate has absolutely no background or knowledge on anything to do with Oro Valley government; certainly not being its mayor.
WE MUST ELECTED MIKE ZINKIN FOR MAYOR.
MIKE has the knowledge, the experience, the demeanor and the time to lead us.
PLEASE VOTE FOR MIKE ZINKIN----and PLEASE VOTE FOR ONLY MATT RABB.
They are the ONLY TWO CANDIDATES BEHOLDEN TO US,THE PEOPLE OF ORO VALLEY.
