Oro Valley's Eyesore

...
On December 5, this article appeared in the Arizona Daily Star. I wasn't really sure what to say about this construction-in-progress eyesore on the east side of Oracle Road at Linda Vista.

From the article:

"Sections of walls, toppled by the wind, have yet to be fixed. Trees sitting in temporary planters look thirsty as they wait to get settled into the soil. Outside the fence, a sign reveals what's envisioned for the Oro Valley site: a wide, two-story, pink-and-tan hued hotel dubbed Homewood Suites Hilton. "Another great project by Sunway Hotel Group," the sign says. The project has been dormant for months."

The project is owned by Sunway Hotel Group. They are headquartered in a suburb of Kansas City, Mo. in Overland Park. You can read about the company's management team and other members of their organization by clicking here.

Being a concerned neighbor, like you, I spoke with Linda Smith, Senior Vice President of the company. Linda confirmed what she is quoted as saying in the article; that is, that the company is working to lock in financing by the end of the year.

So let's hope this happens.

In addition, Linda said that construction would resume "immediately" once the financing is in place.

All of this is good news.

Hopefully, in the not too distant future, we will be able to say:"Bye-Bye Eyesore".
