Thanks to the yeoman efforts of our friend Phil Richardson, and the acceptance by the Mountain Vista & Golder Ranch Fire Districts, the OV Council approved MVFD's attempt to annex the areas from Hardy Road south to Suffolk Hills.
Council Member Bill Garner who worked diligently behind the scene to get this motion to the Council and approved noted---"If you're against this motion, you are against the people."
Only Council Member Al Kunisch thought this would be a "step backwards.'' Obviously, Mr. Kunisch saw fit to be against the people.
Congrats to the council, especially Bill Garner, GRFD Chief John Fink & his Board, Chairman of MVFD Mike Treece & his Board for doing what is in the best interests of the citizens of our town.

$3M Stimulus Money For Oro Valley Road Improvements
You may recall, Oro Valley staff requested a whopping $570M stimulus money for various projects, including Naranja Park & The Municipal Operations Center.
Well, hopefully the $3 million that we will get from ADOT for upgrading the road system, is only the beginning----- but I don't think we should "hold our breath" awaiting too many dollars for some of the projects on our fund request list.
