We want all our readers to know that this past Monday evening the Northwest Fire District Board Approved A Consolidation with Golder Ranch Fire District.
CORRECTION: The Northwest Fire District voted to BEGIN the process of consolidation with the Golder Ranch Fire District. They did NOT approve the Consolidation. We appreciate Adam Goldberg NWFD Public Information Officer setting the record straight.
This Friday evening, Dec. 4 @ 6:00 PM both Fire Districts will hold a joint meeting open to the public.
The meeting will be held at the Hilton El Conquistador Resort in the Turquoise Room.
Although a potential consolidation MUST be approved by both the Marana and Oro Valley Councils, and perhaps the the voters, this will be a good opportunity to express your thoughts during call to the audience.
A consolidation of these two entities could result in another unwanted escalation of Oro Valley Fire Tax rates.

Or, it could bring improved services and reduced costs!
We won't know until a study is done.
Cheers!
