The despicable manner in which Loomis set-up David to force him out has brought many of us with other diverse opinions together for only reason----THE RESPECT WE ALL HAVE FOR DAVID ANDREWS.

Now we should take a good look at some of the postings over the last few days.
A few of the bloggers made some good suggestions, which, understandably, were lost in the emotion of the sad events surrounding David Andrew's dismissal.
One blogger noted that there are only 20 or so "regulars" he suggested that we need to increase our readership so that more folks are informed of the blog's existance, more diverse opionions surface and, super critical, more citizens get a chance to see the workings of town government. In a private conversation Art expressed it best: The LOVE blog is so important, it is one of the few ways that the public can be informed. He (Art)(et al)
- agree or disagree with his positions - has provided a great service to Oro Valley.
The blogger suggested posting signs, I would be happy to help post signs.
Any other ideas?
One last thought on emotion. I think our cause - good government -is promoted if we try to cut down on name calling. I am as guilty as anyone, but I can see it could turn off potential participants.
So when OVOT - or any other person we may not often agree with - chimes in. We should respond with a standard phrase: "I don't agree with you for the following reasons - - -
Thank you for your post"
May be hard to do but civil discourse may help attact more people to the good government cause. I would venture there are a few people out there who find it a bit wild in the blogosphere....lets help them with a welcoming climate.

I agree we need more bloggers or regulars on here.
Realistically not everybody in OV thinks alike or agrees.
I do notice then when a newbie posts if they agree with the majority then they get the atta boy or girl and a welcome and if they don't well the might just get a cyber spanking.
Also some may be intimidated when they read some of the responses and postings especially to those who disagree.
Ok, most of the time I agree with the majority of the posters and postings on here and a few times that I did not it got sort of nasty.
I don't have a problem with the OV police and in general I support law enforcement. This latest issue seems to be more of the union getting heavy handed. Well people belong to unions so they have a unified and strong voice. Like anything else sometimes it can gets out of control. I will end on that.
I also strongly disagree with some people but that does not necessarily mean that they are bad people. Some on council who I support strongly I would probably disagree with on their national political views. But I still think they are good people.
Some can't seem to differentiate.
End of my vent/post.
Nombe---- I agree that we must try to reach every OV citizen.
Inasmuch as I don't believe Loomis, Carter, Kunisch & Abbott would allow signs, may I respectfully ask every reasonable person to spread the word about this blog, and ask them to tell others.
We must let everyone know about this despicable act and make sure Loomis can no longer disgrace our town.

In just the last few days, opinions by artmarth, boobie baby,Christopher, Conny, Deacon, Dan, drdon,ezak, endthehandouts, Ferlin, Fear the Turtle, Jennifer, Kathy Pastryk(me), Liliana, MsCoyote, Nombe Watanabe (you), Native Spirit, OVMom, OV Objective Thinker, Observer77, Paula,Sonia prebie, townie, Suija,The Zee Man, Travelling Dancer, Vet66, Victorian Cowgirl, Vistoso Val and Zev have been posted. There are probably loads of people who read it but don't contribute. Speaking of contributions -- what if Art held a pot luck inviting the whole crew? Who would show up? Sounds like the plot for an Agatha Christie novel... I hope there wouldn't be poison in the pot.

I think the blogger was speaking to normal traffic. The David Andrew's related postings brought out people who do not normally participate. Some of the new bloggers will not be seen again, in my opinion. If I am wrong, then so much the better.
