The Az Supreme Court has ruled that the state lawmakers violated the Az Constitution in a 2008 action when they tried to force local governments to pay the state almost $30 million.
Had the court not ruled, it would have had a negative impact on Oro Valley finances, to the tune of about $143,000.
One Justice who concurred wrote that the state could still get the $30 million by reducing local government’s shares of Urban Revenue Sharing Funds (URSF).
