Our Readers Responded With An Overwhelming "NO" On Naranja Bond Issue
We certainly don't pretend that 177 responses are an accurate assessment of how ALL Oro Valley voters feel about the Naranja Bond issue, but when 70% of any group is against anything, that does make some sort of statement.
I will say this about our poll. Five individuals wrote us supporting the park. One senior citizen indicated he is willing to pay for this park for future generations. One woman wrote and asked that as a result of our position, saying we are against the taxing of the citizens for a park that many of us do not want, do not need, will not use, and in some cases, can not afford, she demanded I remove her from our mailing list---which I did.
She saw fit to write the following tidbit.

She saw fit to write the following tidbit.
"Are you INSANE? Actually, I believe you are, so I've answered the question for myself. Take me off this mailing list immediately, you Freak. Me and my family want no part of it."
We received many more emails and/or text messages agreeing with us.
The bottom line is this: Come Nov. 8 the voters of Oro Valley will decide this issue. If nothing else, we'll see what kind of barometer our readers are. Although we wouldn't expect a 70% rejection, it is our belief this issue will not pass.
We'll see.
Thanks to all those that took the time to express their opinion.
