The AZ Daily Star reports in the April 3rd issue that the Steam Pump Ranch panel has agreed on a plan to restore the old ranch located just north of Home Depot on the west side of Oracle rd.
In addition to $300,000 Bond Money available, plus a potential heritage grant of $150,000 from the state, to pay for the first phase, town officials have requested that Pima County include its Steam Pump Ranch project in its next bond election in an amount of $2 million.
We won't comment on the merits of restoring the old ranch, or the cost to maintain and operate it, but we hope that Chuck Huckleberry, Pima County Administrator will see fit to work with Oro Valley on this project----inasmuch as Oro Valley appears to not want Pima County's help with their pre-annexation of Arroyo Grande.
But then again, hopefully one project will not affect another. We'll see.
