The October 24th issue of The Explorer has an editorial that we wholeheartedly endorse. If you haven't read it, please do. It's what we have been saying for more than three years.
One excerpt from The Explorer editorial says it all.
The report presented last week to the council by town Finance Director Stacy Lemos required a follow-up application of smelling salts, so devastating was the punch. The projections of sales-tax revenue that had the property-tax-fearing council giddy with anticipation, proved to be pipe dreams, delusions, deceptions...or some nightmarish combination.
