Pretty Good Guesses On Cities & Towns Conference "Question of the Week"

Wow! We received some pretty good guesses on the number of Oro Valley personnel who attended the recent conference held in a resort in Scottsdale. We attached an email memo from Oro Valley Town Manager, David Andrews. Additionally, we received an email response from Mary Davis, Communications Administrator. Click here to read what they said. Both felt the conference was a worthwhile experience. Mr. Andrews used the term "networking." A couple of our responses compared "networking" to "schmoozing." I guess "networking" is "schmoozing," but, at the tax payer's expense.

As for the cost of the conference, we're waiting of Ms. Davis to supply the information---which we'll pass along, when received.
NOTE: The cost to tax payers for the conference was $7,800.

If you read Mr. Andrew's memo, you see he listed the attendees. Including the Mayor & Town Manager, the total number of attendees was------------TEN!

I am not surprised at all with the non-answer in this memo. It is full of words but no substance.
Would like to hear some details about what was learned at the
conference, not the usual wording that tells me what I already know.
I know the town staff can write.
Give me some meaning with those words!
Could we have an example of say a program or idea that would be economical to use in OV.
