Most of us know the name David Malin. Some know him as Vestar's OV Marketplace Project Manager. Many of of us know him as a present day "snake oil salesman."
Well, Malin is at it again. In a feeble attempt to respond to Diane Peter's coherent guest editorial in last week's Explorer, (see our posting on July 25--"Vestar Will Take Our Millions ---")---Malin once again attempts to divert attention from the real issue. He attempts to extol the virtues of his Marketplace by telling us how fortunate we are to be getting a movie complex, while "sluffing over" the fact that his "Unique" mall will be "highlighted" by a 24/7 Wal-Mart Super Center.
Why not take this opportunity to read Malin's comments, and those of Diane. You determine who is more truthful, trustworthy and believable.

Mr. Malin keeps dancing around the the issue of why Vestar is not keeping its promise to the voters of Oro Valley.
I personally feel a tad resentful of his assuming all in OV are just so impressed with having a movie theater that we are forgetting the promise 'of a unique shopping experience. So what the heck is so unique about having a Wal Mart and a movie theater? Yes having a Wal Mart and a movie theater in turn for sharing 23.2 million, yes that is unique, but not in a positive way.
Mr. Malin seems to be speaking to us like we are all bumpkins.
Maybe he is not aware that a lot of us are angry and know that we were mislead and lied to by Mr.Malin and his company, Vestar.
Also I think some of the environmental improvements he speaks of are possibly mandatory or required.
So far I am not impressed nor is anybody else that I know of.
Time will tell, hopefully Vestar brings in a nicer mix of tenants.
But how can we trust this Mr. Malin and Vestar?
So far they are not impressive and
so far from being truthful with residents, it speaks volumes.
