Look Up! There Might Be a New Wireless Antenna You See In The Future

For those readers not familiar with the Oro Valley Town Council Agenda, allow me to explain.

Other than "Call To the Audience," Presentations, if any, there is the "Consent Agenda," followed by the regular agenda items that usually require a discussion, and more times than not, a vote.

The Consent Agenda usually consists of "Boiler Plate" items, and unless a Council Member wishes to "pull" an item for discussion, it gets unanimous approval.

Well, one Consent Agenda scheduled for the Aug 14 meeting caught our eye. We hope at least one astute Council Member might want additional information, like, is it a good idea.

The item is noted below. If nothing else, we hope, if it is approved, it will be disguised as a large saguaro, not a massive pole. Or perhaps, the $1,300/month revenue is not worth it at all.

What do you think?

Consent Agenda Item E--OV Council meeting Aug 14
E. Resolution No. (R)07- 91 Authorizing and approving a lease agreement with Alltel Communications in the amount of $1300 monthly to construct and operate a wireless antenna facility in the Tangerine Road right-of-way east of La Cholla Boulevard
