Caution! Your Neighborhood May Be Next!

Has anybody noticed the trend in Oro Valley where residents are getting "the short end of the stick" when it comes to ----shall we say it ---the dreaded "G" [Growth] word?

As we have reported on numerous postings, our neighbors in the Rancho Vistoso area lost out to GROWTH, when a crematorium was approved----without too many people even knowing about it, until it was too late.

And now yet another group of residents have the same complaint and are in the same predicament. This time its an ACE Hadware. Seems that our neighbors thought that an office complex was coming in, until they found it was a retail store in excess of 50,000 sq.ft. that will block their views and infringe on their privacy, not to mention, lowering their property values.

Welcome to Oro Valley, neighbors. You've been bitten by the reality bug. The Mayor, Town Council in general and Town Administration in particular don't give a hoot about your views or your needs. They continue to act in the developer's best interests.

What can any of us to to correct what appears to be total disregard for the citizens?

There is one simple answer!

The only thing that will work is to get more Council Members like Paula Abbott and KC Carter, who actually concern themselves with the well-being of their constituents.

Most of our neighborhoods have already experienced similar situations.
The "Tail" wins by using the divide and conquer MO.

Its worked so well for them why would they change tactics.

I feel badly for the people behind that retail area.

Maybe when it hits the really exclusive neighborhoods we will hear some solutions.

Never mind, its too late.
