Pima County Bond Issue May Be Put Off

The Az Star Nov 1 headline reads:

Bond vote may be put off

"Pima County's concerns over voter confidence in government and wrath over rising property-tax bills could delay 2008 election."


While the county is concerned over rising property taxes, Mayor Loomis is "full steam ahead" with his $150 Million Naranja Park. Will the majority of this Oro Valley Council ever have the sense to face reality.

We know they believe they're smarter than all the citizens. Now, they seem to be smarter than the Pima County leadership.

Change can't come too soon!

Steam Pump Ranch Plans Discussed Nov 1, Town Hall

How to develop the Historic Steam Pump Ranch will be discussed this evening at 7:00 PM at Town Hall.

From our recent Question of the Week, there doesn't appear to be much interest in this site.

That may be too bad, as something will be done, and, hopefully, something most of us will find acceptable----especially if the citizens help subsidize it.

Az Star Reports On 'Giveaways' Shortfall

The Az Star reports that the two retail developments that received tax incentives, Oracle Crossing & Steam Pump Village came up 82% short of projected revenue from what was expected to be a windfall of income for Oro Valley.

Quoting from the article:

That demonstrates that government officials "should not be in the business of picking economic winners and losers," said Clint Bolick, director of the Goldwater Institute's Center for Constitutional Litigation.
